This role offers a unique opportunity to shape Denmark’s brand as a travel destination in The Netherlands - the 2nd biggest foreign market for Danish tourism - working in a fast-paced, international setting with diverse, impactful projects every day. 

VisitDenmark is dedicated to raising Denmark's profile as a top travel destination. Based in our local office in Leiden, you’ll take part in inspiring Dutch travelers to discover Denmark. The market is seeing an exciting growth and development with an increasing number of varied partners, and we’re looking for a dynamic and proactive Marketing & Press Coordinator, with a strong passion for marketing and tourism and good in coordinating multiple initiatives supporting the local team and in close collaboration with VisitDenmark’s head office in Copenhagen and other market offices abroad. The right candidate will play an important role in building valuable relationships to help keep this momentum going. 

Tasks and responsibilities:
As the Marketing & Press Coordinator in the Netherlands, you’ll be an important support in the local marketing activities for the Netherlands, covering everything from campaign development to final reporting as well as numerous Press & PR initiatives.   

Key responsibilities:  

Working closely with the Dutch team and headquarters, you will: 

  • Assist in coordinating local marketing initiatives, including digital, TV, and offline B2C campaigns, co-branding collaborations, and B2B activities, from concept to execution and final reporting.
  • Contribute to Press & PR efforts, such as organizing press events, arranging press trips to Denmark, drafting press releases, pitching stories, and managing media and influencer relations.
  • Support content creation and storytelling, developing engaging texts and ideas for press, social media, and marketing materials tailored to the Dutch market.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on marketing and PR performance, tracking campaign effectiveness and media coverage.
  • Help with travel trade and event coordination for the local team.
  • Conduct market research and screen potential media and partnership opportunities.
  • Manage traveler requests and handle various office management tasks 
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration with partners, media professionals, influencers, and other stakeholders in the travel and media industries to foster strong synergies. 

 Your Background: 

  • A relevant degree in marketing or communication
  • A few years of marketing experience, ideally in roles that required collaboration with tourism or international partners.
  • Familiarity with the Dutch market, language and culture, and ideally Danish markets and cultures.
  • Proficiency in Dutch and English (Danish/Nordic language skills are a plus).

  • Adaptability to new technologies: A keen interest in leveraging the latest digital tools and trends to keep campaigns current.
  • Market insights and competitor knowledge: Interest in monitoring trends, attending industry events, and supporting the local market research.
  • Media literacy: Interest in collaborating with the local media landscape from traditional media to digital born media.

Salary is negotiated individually in accordance with qualifications. 

Travel: Occasional travel to Denmark and locally in the Netherlands.
