    The Role

    As a Lead Engineer Electric and Hybrid Propulsion, you will be part of the electrification team within the Workboats division. This multi-disciplinary team is responsible for developing and standardizing the technology required for the electrification of our workboat product portfolio, which includes High Speed Crafts, Ferries, Tugboats, and stationary dredgers. You will engineer modular technology that fits this variety of vessels and operational profiles, from system development to successful project implementation. You will report to the Team Leader E&A within the engineering department.

    Key Accountabilities

    In this role, you will:

    • Engineer and manage the configuration of systems like power generating systems, electric drives, power management systems, propulsion motors, energy storage systems, and auxiliary systems.
    • Contribute to the development of new technology required for Electric and Hybrid propulsion systems.
    • Manage interfaces with other sub-systems (mechanical/shipbuilding/digital disciplines).
    • Provide input for Technology Development roadmaps.
    • Contribute to the engineering process by developing required deliverables such as specification documents, functional descriptions, system principles, and modular engineering building blocks.
    • Support the successful implementation of this technology into our products.
    • Support our production locations during vessel manufacturing.
    • Assist design and proposal engineers on new vessel designs.
    • Provide knowledge and training to our Services Department.
    • Support corrective actions throughout the vessel lifecycle.
    • Give feedback on design improvements.

    Skills & Experience

    To be successful in this role, you have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or another relevant technical study.
  • Knowledge of international standards, rules, and experience working with Ship Classification Societies.
