My client is looking for a General Ledger (GL) Accountant with strong expertise in accounting principles and a keen eye for detail to join our growing finance team in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

Preferred start date ASAP.

Client is a dynamic, independent production company that specializes in creating high-quality, thought-provoking content across multiple genres. Their client base includes global broadcasters, streaming services, and digital platforms, delivering innovative documentaries, series, and films.

Description

• Take full responsibility for the royalty accounting process, including managing royalty-related transactions, ensuring proper accounting, and handling royalty payments and accruals
• Prepare and deliver royalty reports on a regular basis, providing insights into royalty income, payments, and trends
• Ensure the timely and accurate distribution of royalty statements to relevant stakeholders
• Reconcile royalty-related accounts and ensure all royalty transactions are recorded accurately in the general ledger
• Support the finance team with any necessary general ledger activities, such as journal entries and account reconciliations
• Assist with the preparation of financial reports
• Provide support during internal and external audits
• Collaborate with other departments, including finance, tax, and legal
• Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve internal controls

Profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• At least 3 years of professional experience in accounting, preferably with a focus on royalties or similar areas
• Strong understanding of accounting and management
• Proficient in accounting software and ERP systems
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently and manage the royalty accounting process with minimal supervision
• Fluent in English (other languages, especially Dutch or German, would be an advantage)
