    Grid planning and Analysing Specialist

TenneT is growing fast to realize its strategic ambitions. We play a leading role in driving the energy transition. We are looking for a passionate Grid planning and Analysing Specialist at our location Arnhem who will contribute to this and that might be you?

    Your profile and background

We are looking for someone with a strong background in Electrical Power Engineering, someone who is proactive and not afraid of tackling uncertainties. You should have experience working with complex data and models, and be comfortable with collaborative discussions to shape the future of power systems.

    • You have a relevant university degree, preferably in Electrical Power Engineering, and have gained experience in modelling electrical networks, especially in the requested field of expertise.
    • You are not afraid of uncertainties and can develop frameworks to estimate them, test these frameworks in discussions with others, and make well-founded statements about future expectations.
    • A proactive mindset, showing initiative and a willingness to explore new ways of solving challenges.
    • Proficiency in handling computer models and working with large datasets and tools (e.g., PSS/E, PowerFactory, Matlab, Python).
    • You have proven knowledge of the transmission system and experience in conducting power system studies.

In our online-application-form you can apply within only some minutes as long as this job is posted. Afterwards we screen your application and get back to you as soon as possible. Our selection process consists of maximum two interviews.

    Your contribution to TenneT

You will develop and implement analysis methodologies for the following purposes:

    • Assessing the future behavior of the EHV grid and system, particularly in relation to power flow and contingency analyses, system stability, and the integration of power electronics.
    • Evaluating power system stability, with a focus on decreasing inertia and fault levels resulting from the phase-out of conventional generation.
    • Investigating the integration of power electronics due to the increasing share of renewable energy sources.
    • Developing intelligent grid planning concepts, particularly in the context of sector coupling (e.g., power-to-gas, power-to-heat).
You will play a key role in contributing to network development plans and expansion projects (G0) within the Dutch transmission system, while also representing TenneT in national and international working groups and study programs. Additionally, you will collaborate with colleagues in Germany to enhance methods and tools, and contribute to the development and maintenance of the dynamic grid model.
