We are looking to expand our team with a Financial Controller (M/F/X).

As Financial Controller , you will play a key role in financial reporting, compliance, and process optimization . You will work closely with the CEO and factional CFO, ensuring accurate financial reporting and strategic financial planning . Over time, this role has the potential to evolve into a Financial Manager position as we continue to scale.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Compliance

• Own and improve monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting .
• Ensure compliance with Dutch GAAP and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare financial statements and coordinate with external auditors.

Budgeting & Forecasting

Support the CEO in budgeting, financial planning, and cash flow management .

Analyze financial performance and provide actionable insights .

Identify risks and opportunities to help drive smart business decisions.

• Process & Systems Optimization

• Improve financial processes and implement automation where possible .

• Work with external accounting partners on payroll, VAT filings, and reporting.

• Set up strong internal controls and streamline financial workflows.

Operational Finance Support

• Support in securing grants, loans, and funding applications .

• Monitor accounts receivable/payable and optimize working capital management .

• Support contract negotiations from a financial & risk management perspective .

What We're Looking For

✅ 2-4 years of experience in finance, accounting, or financial control.

✅ Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Financial Management.

✅ Detail-oriented and highly organized, with strong analytical skills.

✅ Proactive, resourceful, and able to problem-solve independently .

✅ Knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance .

✅ Experience with Exact Online is necessary

✅ A passion for making an impact- you want your work to contribute to a greater purpose .

Location:

Enschede. Expect to work in the office 2-3 days per week minimum to collaborate with the team. Working hours: work when you work at your best, but be available for our team meetings.
