Are you a flexible and motivated team player who likes to roll up your sleeves? At Chane Terminals, we are looking for a Semi-Continuous Operator for our Rail Tank Car Centre (RTCC). In this role, you will work in a dynamic environment where safety and efficiency are paramount. You will be part of a close-knit team and contribute to a smoothly running logistics process. Where will you be working?

The Chane Nieuwe Maas Terminal is located centrally in the Port of Rotterdam, directly between Vlaardingen and Hoogvliet, and near the Benelux and Botlek tunnels. Here, we serve our customers 24/7, with a wide range of logistics solutions. Whether it concerns sea vessels, inland vessels, tank trucks, or wagons, our direct pipeline connections and multi-service approach make us a strong and flexible terminal.

The RTCC team consists of four colleagues who work in a semi-continuous two-shift system, where collaboration and efficiency are central.

Job description

As a Semi-Continue Operator at the RTCC, you are an important link in the logistics process. You work in a dynamic environment where safety and efficiency are top priorities. In your role, you perform various operational tasks, such as:

• Safely and efficiently loading train cars and, if necessary, loading and unloading (sea) vessels and tank trucks;
• Identifying and resolving minor disruptions and performing basic maintenance;
• Ensuring clear communication with the control room and the CCC department;
• Working according to safety regulations and operational guidelines to guarantee a smooth and safe operation.

With your commitment and sense of responsibility, you contribute to a well-organized and safe work process.

Representative activities

To be successful in this role, we are looking for a driven and responsible team player who can handle a dynamic work environment well. You have a hands-on mentality and know how to work safely and efficiently. In addition, you possess the following qualifications and characteristics:

• Experience as an operator is an advantage;
• A completed operator training is a plus. In possession of a VCA certificate;
• Proficiency in Dutch and English. A true team player with a strong sense of responsibility;
• Ability to think solution-oriented and to switch quickly when necessary;
• Flexible, driven, and motivated to deliver the best results every day.
