Quality Assurance Engineer & Scrum Master
Location: Delft, the Netherlands
Ensure quality for robust 24/7 logistics operations
Description
Our DevOps integration team is responsible for the Smart Integration Management platform, which helps route millions of parcels to their correct destinations. Besides this, our product also helps to route baggage into the correct airplanes around the globe. This back-end system ensures that mail item data is processed timely and accurately, making logistical processing as efficient as possible. The software development team implements complex business rules and creates multiple interfaces to third-party systems. As a QA Engineer, you will ensure that our interface contracts are upheld and that the platform runs bug-free. Furthermore, you will play a key role in defining test strategies that meet the business needs of our customers.
You will be part of a customer-facing team with stakeholders around the globe. Besides implementing new functionality into our products, analysis of operational questions and incidents will also be part of your weekly duties. In due time, you can take over Scrum Master responsibilities in the team.
Your job
You oversee and ensure the quality of the software we deliver to our customers. This includes performing functional and non-functional logic an integration tests, as well as verifying the accuracy and completeness of the documentation provided to our clients. In parallel, you hold key responsibilities in operations, which involve deploying the software, conducting smoke tests, and executing rollbacks when necessary. You are adept at identifying issues promptly and accurately, and you can reconfigure software components to maximize uptime.
You understand both functional and technical requirements, creating test cases based on them, and you can effectively communicate these to the developers and the product owner. Additionally, you critically assess your team's performance and propose process improvements for any structural issues you identify. By helping to define clear quality gates, you enable the software team to deploy software to production with confidence.
Your responsibilities
- Convert functional and technical requirements into reusable test cases.
- Discuss acceptance criteria, or expand upon them based on your experience, to make sure the software adheres to the specifications.
- Perform deployments and rollbacks.
- Configure site-specific applications in preparation for software deployments.
- Create and establish quality gates for the development team.
- Automate as many tests as possible to reduce the software's maintenance costs.
- Troubleshoot and debug system issues, suggesting timely fixes.
- Define test strategy in a test plan for a given product or implementation.
- Communicate test results and challenges to relevant stakeholders.
- Continuously seek to improve the team's workflow.
- Assist in the teams Agile way of working by performing the Scrum Master role.

Qualification & Skills
- Master's degree (WO) thinking level.
- Minimum of 2 years of professional experience as a QA engineer.
- TMap or ISTQB knowledge, (certificate is a plus).
- Experienced in performance testing, functional testing, usability testing, E2E testing, explorative testing.
- Strong communication skills across stakeholders.
- Proficiency in the Dutch language.
- Ability to switch between a detailed approach and a high-level understanding of the system, with an understanding of the relationship between functional and technical components.
- Ability to perform Root Cause analyses.
- Ability to perform deployments.
- Experience in being a Scrum Master, or at least affinity with the SCRUM framework.
- Affinity with Documentation.
Nice to have qualifications
- Experience in creating unit tests and integration testing.
- Experience in Test Automation.
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment.
- Knowledge of team process improvements.
- Python programming skills.
- Experience with being a 'Product Owner'.
- Experience in communicating with customers.
