What will you be doing?

As a Senior Systems Engineer at Alfen, you will focus on the technical aspects within our multidisciplinary R&D Product Teams. You will act as the linking pin between the Commercial Product Manager, Technical Product Manager, Technology Manager, Architects, and Engineers. Your focus will be on overall product and requirement management, ensuring a structured approach and technically sound solutions.

You will work on innovative energy storage system (ESS) projects , contributing to smart and sustainable solutions for grid stability and energy management.

Your tasks and responsibilities include:

• Guiding and translating stakeholder requirements into high-level system requirements.
• Defining high-level product architecture in collaboration with the Technology Manager, Architects, and (Lead) Engineers.
• Guiding and translating product architecture into subsystem requirements.
• Owning the requirements structure, managing and keeping it up-to-date using our Requirements Management Software.
• Managing technical risks and developing mitigation strategies in collaboration with technical disciplines.
• Guiding the creation of verification and validation plans based on the requirements structure and results of risk analyses.
• Ensuring an integrated and validated total solution within the set timelines, costs, and quality goals.
• Collecting and ensuring the completeness of technical documentation.
• Responsible for the final delivery of the technical construction dossier.
• Guiding and mentoring new or less experienced colleagues and facilitating knowledge transfer within the team.
• Sharing a vision on Systems Engineering methods and working practices, and rolling out this vision within the team of Systems Engineers.

What do we expect from you?

We are looking for a technically driven professional with a hands-on and structured approach. You will be the technical conscience of the multidisciplinary product team, leading technology leadership and acting as a sparring partner for the Technical Product Manager in strategic technical decisions.

Additionally:

• A completed HBO/WO education in a relevant technical field.

• Experience with system architecture and requirement management (preferably with Jama).

• Experience as a Senior Systems Engineer in multidisciplinary R&D projects.

• Excellent command of both Dutch and English, spoken and written.

We have specialist teams in software, electrical engineering, power electronics, and mechanical engineering.
