    Job description

    From a perfectly cooked tournedos to an unexpected seasonal dish - you have the skills and creativity to elevate every plate. At The Lobby Nesplein, tucked away in a charming side street in the heart of Amsterdam, we're looking for a Sous Chef to strengthen our kitchen, known for its quality, humor, and surprising twists on classic dishes. We cook with honest, local ingredients and serve breakfast (for hotel guests), lunch, bites, and dinner. Are you ready to set the tone with us in a kitchen that's as bold and unique as the city itself?

    What you will do

    • Working with the team to create tasty dishes centered around vegetables

    • Creating schedules, orders, HACCP and related administration

    • As Sous Chef you will compile the menu together with the Head Chef and you are therefore creatively responsible

    • Based on the menu and recipes, you will also keep an eye out on the cost price and calculations

    • Responsible for purchasing and personnel costs and participate in this

    • You make purchase planning, order the necessary ingredients on time and you are co-responsible for a good relationship with the suppliers

    • As a Conscious Sous Chef, you will ensure that to minimize waste

    • And very important; next to all the hard work, add fun to the team so there is a good atmosphere!

    Job requirements

    Personal qualities and job requirements

    • You won't see this one coming: you have a passion for cooking and making guests happy

    • You have been around for a while, at least 1 - 2 years experience as Sous Chef or ready for the next step in your Kitchen career

    • You are full time available; a free day is possible in discuss

    • You have knowledge of HACCP

    • Preferably you live in or near Amsterdam

    • You speak English (& Dutch is a pre)
